The second season of Hulu’s “Castle Rock” will tackle Stephen King’s Misery, we recently learned, with Lizzy Caplan on board to play Annie Wilkes. Four more have joined the cast this week, Deadline reports, including Robin Weigert (“Deadwood,” pictured above) as Crysilda Wilkes, Annie’s mother.
Sarah Gadon (Alias Grace, True Detective), Alison Wright (The Americans) and Greg Grunberg (Heroes, Alias) have also been set as guest stars.
Gadon is Rita Green, a vengeful woman from Annie’s past. Wright will portray Valerie, a kind-hearted local who explores the town’s evil history. Grunberg is Sheriff Boucher, a local official, who faces off against a brewing, dark force in Castle Rock.
Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption) will be returning to the world of Stephen King in Season 2, alongside Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade), Yusra Warsama, Barkhad Abdi, Matthew Alan, John Hoogenakker and Paul Sparks.
In Season 2, a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes, Stephen King’s nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock.
