The slasher-inspired ninth season of FX’s “American Horror Story” is titled “American Horror Story: 1984,“ and thus far we only know that Emma Roberts will be back but Evan Peters, sadly, will not. And it looks like series mainstay Sarah Paulson also *won’t* be returning.
Variety reports today, “Paulson will not appear in a significant role in the FX anthology series’ upcoming ninth season.” They note, however, that she could appear in a cameo.
Paulson has previously had major roles in every single season of “American Horror Story,” so it’s definitely a surprise to learn that she won’t have a starring role in “1984”.
“AHS: 1984” will premiere on Wednesday, September 18.
