Co-Creator of “The Boys” Reveals the One Scene They Filmed But Amazon Made Them Cut

Now streaming through Amazon Prime, “The Boys” (based on the best-selling comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson) puts a bold, fresh and bloody new spin on the superhero genre, centered on a group of vigilantes who set out to take down corrupt superheroes. And in the world of “The Boys,” well, let’s just say these particular superheroes are total assholes.

Without spoiling a thing, the 8-episode series delivers some of the craziest moments you’ll see on television this year, but even Amazon was forced to draw the line on one occasion.

During an AMA session over on Reddit today, co-creator Eric Kripke detailed a scene that was shot for the first season but ultimately ended up on the cutting room floor.

There was ONE SCENE that Amazon said FUCK NO, you have to cut,” Kripke explained. “I couldn’t quite understand why considering everything else we have in the show, but: Homelander, after being dressed down by Stilwell in episode 2, was standing on one of the Chrysler building Eagles. He pulled his pants down and started jerking off, mumbling “I can do whatever I want” over and over again until he climaxed all over New York City.

Kripke added, “We shot it! Oh my God, Anthony was the BEST in that scene. Amazon seemed to think it wasn’t necessary. I thought it told me something about his psyche. To be clear, they’ve been great, that may have been the ONLY fight I lost in Season 1.”

Trust me when I say, the things Amazon *did* allow are WAY more out there than that!
