In a lengthy chat with THR this week, Jon Favreau spilled the beans that he’s reuniting with practical effects masters the Chiodo Brothers (Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Critters, Elf) on a stop-motion animated Christmas special for Netflix! Sharing a link to the story on their Facebook page, the brothers confirmed the news while also letting the title slip: Alien Xmas.
Favreau told THR, “I’ve been trying to work with these guys the Chiodo brothers, who did the stop-motion on Elf. It took over 15 years, only because the business model changed.”
As fans of the Chiodo Bros. may be aware, they released a book back in 2015 titled Alien Xmas, so it’s pretty safe to assume that the Netflix Christmas special is an adaptation.
