The second season of Hulu’s “Castle Rock” will tackle Stephen King’s Misery, with Lizzy Caplan on board to play a young Annie Wilkes. With a short announcement teaser today, Hulu has revealed that Misery will be coming to “Castle Rock” on October 23rd!
Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption) will be returning to the world of Stephen King in Season 2, alongside Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade), Yusra Warsama, Barkhad Abdi, Matthew Alan, John Hoogenakker and Paul Sparks. Robin Weigert will be playing Crysilda Wilkes, Annie’s mother. Sarah Gadon (Alias Grace, True Detective), Alison Wright (The Americans) and Greg Grunberg (Heroes, Alias) have also been set as guest stars.
Gadon is Rita Green, a vengeful woman from Annie’s past. Wright will portray Valerie, a kind-hearted local who explores the town’s evil history. Grunberg is Sheriff Boucher, a local official, who faces off against a brewing, dark force in Castle Rock.
In Season 2, a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes, Stephen King’s nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock.
“Castle Rock” is produced by J.J. Abrams.
