Even Star Keith David Is Begging for a Revival of Disney’s “Gargoyles”

Gargoyles series

Just about one year ago, our own Felix Vasquez Jr. referred to the animated series “Gargoyles” as being “one of Disney’s best creations in the ’90s,” and many of you guys were in complete agreement. The series, centered on gargoyles in charge of protecting New York City at night, ran from October 1994 to February 1997, with 3 seasons and 78 episodes in total.

There has been a good deal of renewed interest in “Gargoyles” in recent years, with Funko recently releasing a wave of POP! vinyl toys based on the series, leading many fans of the show to wonder if we’ll someday soon be seeing a revival of some kind. After all, many TV shows from the past have made a return in recent years, so truly anything is possible.

One star of the series who’s hoping for its return? Keith David (They Live, The Thing), who voiced the character Goliath. He talks “Gargoyles” in a new chat with ComicBook.com.

You know, those of us who were involved from the beginning… I’ve always wondered why they stopped it in the first place,” David told the site. “[We’ve wondered] why we haven’t come back to a reboot. I mean, I would love nothing more than to revisit Goliath.”

David continued, “You know, he was absolutely one of my very, very, very, very favorite characters. I’ve always maintained that when I grow up, I want to be like Goliath.”

“Gargoyles” celebrates its 25th anniversary next month. With Disney launching the Disney+ streaming service in November, we wouldn’t count out a “Gargoyles” revival just yet!

A new villain, who may or may not have a connection to A, has come to town and is going to put them all to the test.

Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Zaria, Malia Pyles, and Maia Reficco return as the next generation of Pretty Little Liars.

The series also stars Mallory Bechtel, Sharon Leal, Alex Aiono, Jordan Gonzalez, and Elias Kacavas.

The series is created, written, and executive produced by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Riverdale,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) and Lindsay Calhoon Bring (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”).
