Created by Mary Laws and based on Nathan Ballingrud’s short story collection “North American Lake Monsters,“ Hulu‘s anthology series “Monsterland” is currently in the casting process, and Deadline brings us the word today that Mike Colter (“Evil”) has been set to star.
The known cast of the monster-themed anthology series also includes Jonathan Tucker (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, “Hannibal”) and Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart) thus far.
“Encounters with mermaids, fallen angels and other strange beasts drive broken people to desperate acts in an attempt to repair their lives, ultimately showing there is a thin line between man and monster.”
Deadline notes, “Colter will play Brian in the episode, titled “Newark, New Jersey.” It centers around Brian, a grief-stricken husband (Colter) who blames himself after his daughter disappears under his supervision. Guilty and despairing, he refuses to believe she is dead and is unable to move on with his life or be emotionally available to his wife.”
