Jennifer Tilly Confirms She’ll Be Part of Syfy and Don Mancini’s “Chucky” TV Series

Officially ordered up last month, Syfy is bringing horror’s most iconic killer doll to the small screen with “Chucky,” an upcoming television series from franchise creator Don Mancini and “Channel Zero” mastermind Nick Antosca. In the series, “After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets.”

“Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.”

“The show will be a fresh take on the franchise, allowing us to explore Chucky’s character with a depth that is uniquely afforded by the television series format, while staying true to the original vision that has terrorized audiences for over three decades now,” said Mancini.

So just how much will the series connect to the original film franchise? Well, for starters, Jennifer Tilly has just confirmed that she’ll be appearing in the new “Chucky” series!

“I’m so excited,” Tilly told Page Six this week. She continued, teasing her involvement, “Don Mancini, who created Chucky 30 years ago, is the writer on this series, so it’s the original Chucky. A little bird told me that I am going to be a part of it.”

It seems pretty safe to assume that Tilly will be playing Tiffany Valentine in the series, who was last seen driving off with a Chucky-infused Nica Pierce at the end of Cult of Chucky.

Filming on “Chucky” is set to begin this Summer.
