Two of Quibi’s new series are set to drive onto the mobile platform Monday, April 13th, Bloody Disgusting just learned.
First up is “50 States of Fright”, a new horror anthology series that brings The Evil Dead director Sam Raimi back behind the camera.
The series will explore stories based on urban legends from Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon and Washington, taking viewers deeper into the horrors that lurk just beneath the surface of our country.
The teaser trailer is packed full of scares and looks to be one helluva trip. Also, take a look here at the first shots from two of the segments, with details on both.
Streaming the same day as “50 States of Fright” is “The Stranger”, which stars It Follows and The Guest‘s Maika Monroe & Chronicle‘s Dane DeHaan in a thriller that looks like a modern take on the 1986 classic, The Hitcher, only with an Uber driver being threatened by the passenger.
“The thriller follows an unassuming young rideshare driver (Monroe) who is thrown into her worst nightmare when a mysterious Hollywood Hills passenger (DeHaan) enters her car. Her terrifying ride with the stranger unfolds over 12 hours as she navigates the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles in a chilling game of cat and mouse.”
The series was written and directed by Veena Sud (The Lie, Seven Seconds, The Killing).
