“Flowers in the Attic: The Origin” – A&E Buys V.C. Andrews Collection for Lifetime Projects
Known for her gothic novels dealing with family horrors, the late V.C. Andrews was the author of several notable books including Flowers in the Attic, with her legacy carried on over the decades by dozens of other books that she herself didn’t actually write. A&E now owns all of those “V.C. Andrews” tales, acquiring “rights and licenses” to the entire collection.
The Wrap reports that “the deal covers 138 books and all new releases.” First up, “Flowers in the Attic: The Origin,” a prequel to Flowers in the Attic, comes to Lifetime this summer.
“The series stars Jemima Rooper as Olivia Winfield Foxworth, who eventually becomes the cruel grandmother who imprisons, whips and starves her daughter’s four children.”
“Flowers in the Attic: The Origin tells the story of the headstrong and determined Olivia Winfield Foxworth (Rooper) who is working alongside her beloved father when she finds herself unexpectedly wooed by one of the nation’s most eligible bachelors, Malcolm Foxworth. After a whirlwind romance, Olivia finds herself as the mistress of the imposing Foxworth Hall, where she soon discovers that the fairy tale life she expected has quickly become a nightmare. Under Malcolm’s debonair exterior lies a dark heart, and a twisted evil lurks inside Foxworth Hall that will threaten Olivia’s happiness and that of her children. Her attempts to keep them all safe ultimately push Olivia to become the most terrifying version of herself, leading to her inevitable – and notorious – decision to lock her grandchildren in the attic…”
Lifetime’s series is based on the novel Garden of Shadows.
The “Cutler” series from “V.C. Andrews” is also being turned into a TV series.

“Jurassic World: Chaos Theory” Trailer – “Camp Cretaceous” Sequel Kills Off Jenna Ortega’s Character
In the wake of the five-season animated series “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous,” Netflix’s “Jurassic World: Chaos Theory” is stomping its way onto the platform this year.
“Jurassic World: Chaos Theory” premieres May 24, and the series is set six years after the events of “Camp Cretaceous.” Watch the official trailer from Netflix below.
While the other characters from “Camp Cretaceous” are back in the new series, what’s interesting here is that Jenna Ortega’s Brooklynn is not coming back. As the official “Chaos Theory” trailer reveals, Brooklynn was killed off between shows, with the character’s death kickstarting the “conspiracy thriller” events of this brand new Jurassic World sequel series.
Jenna Ortega had voiced Brooklynn for all five seasons of “Camp Cretaceous.”

“Six years later, members of “The Nublar Six” are struggling to find their footing off the islands, navigating a world now filled with dinosaurs and people who want to hurt them.
“Reunited in the wake of a tragedy, the group comes together only to find themselves on the run and catapulted into a global adventure to unravel a conspiracy that threatens dinosaur and humankind alike and finally learn the truth about what happened to one of their own.”
There will be 10 episodes in the show’s first season, running 22-minutes each.
Scott Kreamer, Aaron Hammersley serve as Executive Producers and Showrunners, with Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, and Frank Marshall also serving as Executive Producers.
Speaking of Jurassic World, a brand new live action movie is also coming soon. It doesn’t yet have a title, but it’s releasing July 2, 2025, and Scarlett Johansson is in talks to star.
