The Boys Season 4

“The Boys” Season 3 premiered on Amazon Prime Video earlier this month, and Bloody Disgusting has learned today that “The Boys” Season 4 has been made official by Amazon.

The violent superhero series continues to be a massive hit for the streaming service, and with viewership up for Season 3, “The Boys” Season 4 is now in development.

Amazon said in a statement, “Over the first three days of its third season, the worldwide audience for ‘The Boys’ has grown by 17% from Season 2, and 234% from Season 1.”

“From our first conversation with Eric Kripke and the creative team about Season Three, we knew the show was continuing to get even bolder — an impressive feat considering the wild success of the Emmy-nominated second season,” Vernon Sanders, head of global television, Amazon Studios said. “’The Boys’ continues to push boundaries in storytelling while also being relentlessly entertaining and threading the needle on social satire that feels all too real. This stylized world of the series has incredible global reach and the viewership for opening weekend is proof of that. We are immensely proud of the cast and crew that has spawned a franchise for Prime Video, and we look forward to bringing more of ‘The Boys’ to our customers.”

The Emmy-nominated series returned with three new episodes on June 3, being followed by one additional episode each subsequent Friday, and ending with the season finale on July 8.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her “The Boys” Season 3 review for Bloody Disgusting, “The Boys continues its streak of anarchic energy, sardonic humor, and self-indulgence made all the more entertaining by its bursts of extreme gonzo violence. Yet it never wavers from grounding it all with deeply human characters, flaws and all.”

The series hails from a team including Eric KripkeSeth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

Last week we learned that Steve Buscemi had joined the cast of “Wednesday” Season 2 at Netflix, and Variety lets us know that Thandiwe Newton (“Westworld”) has also signed on.

Jenna Ortega is back as Wednesday Addams in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s “Wednesday,” with Steve Buscemi playing the new principal of Nevermore Academy.

Jenna Ortega stars in the hit series as Wednesday Addams, with Luis Guzmán playing Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones playing Morticia in Tim Burton’s Netflix series. Christina Ricci also appears in the show, playing a brand new role, with Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.

“Wednesday” is described as “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.” The series follows…

“Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships.”

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (“Smallville”) are the writers and showrunners, with Tim Burton executive producing and directing several episodes of the show’s debut season.

We don’t know much about “Wednesday” Season 2 at the moment but Jenna Ortega has promised that the new season will be “bolder” and darker than the first season of the series.

“We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror more,” Ortega said last year.
