Showtime’s “Let the Right One In” Series Bares its Fangs in First Look Images

Showtime has a new adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s 2004 novel Let the Right One In on the way, and they’ve unveiled a batch of first look images.

EW has also revealed new details for the upcoming series along with the new images that tease the child-like vampire and her father.

Demián Bichir (The Nun) is attached to star in the “Let the Right One In” series, alongside Madison Taylor Baez, Željko IvanekFernanda AndradeNick StahlGrace Gummer, Anika Noni Rose, Kevin Carroll, Ian Foreman and Jacob Buster.

“The series version centers on Mark (Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor (Baez), whose lives were changed forever 10 years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive.”

“The [original] film is about a relationship between an isolated bullied boy and an isolated lonely girl, who we learn is a vampire,” showrunner Andrew Hinderaker told EW. “What I found so compelling about that film is there’s a much smaller relationship between the vampire and [her] adult caretaker. I really used the film as inspiration for a story that really focuses on a 12-year-old girl who has been a vampire for 10 years. She has been taken care of by her father, who keeps her alive, who keeps them ahead of the law, and who has kept hope alive for both of them that one day they will find a cure and this won’t be her life always.”

John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel has been adapted twice before, with Swedish movie Let the Right One In back in 2008, and then American remake Let Me In a couple years later.

The series has been given a 10-episode order from Showtime.

Andrew Hinderaker (Away) is the showrunner, with Seith Mann (Homeland) directing.

The project hails from Tomorrow Studios, who have been trying to get a “Let the Right One In” series off the ground for the last several years now, previously set up at A&E and TNT.

“Chucky” – Official Trailer for This Week’s New Episode Brings Brad Dourif into the White House!

Just two episodes remain in Season 3 of “Chucky,” with the second-to-last episode airing this Wednesday night on USA & SYFY. It’s titled “There Will Be Blood,” and oh yes there will be.

Last week’s episode was absolutely INSANE, with Chucky taking control of the situation room in the White House and attempting to start World War 3. His plan was thwarted, but not before nuking the North Pole. In the wake of launching that missile, Chucky met the true death, his doll body disintegrating into ash like he got Thanos snapped out of existence.

The episode ended with an appearance from Brad Dourif as Charles Lee Ray in his human form, with his spirit now free from the doll and roaming around the haunted White House.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for this week’s episode: “Parapsychologists investigate the disturbances in the White House, while Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) plans her escape.”

“There Will Be Blood” airs Wednesday, April 24 on USA and SYFY. Reversing a new plan they tested out last week, we’re told the episode will be available on Peacock this Thursday.

Watch the trailer below to preview this week’s bloody new episode!
