“John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams” Trailer – Carpenter Back in Director’s Seat in Peacock’s Genre-Busting Series!
Just when you thought October’s Friday the 13th dance card reached max capacity with Halloween offerings, horror master John Carpenter ensures there’s always room for more with upcoming Peacock series “John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams.”
The unscripted series premieres October 13 on Peacock and stems from the mind of legendary horror director, writer, and producer, John Carpenter.
The series is described as “a genre-busting unscripted horror anthology series from the mind of legendary director, writer, and producer, John Carpenter. The series explores the dark secrets and unspeakable evil that sometimes lurks beneath the surface of the sun-drenched streets, manicured lawns and friendly neighbors of suburbia. Each episode focuses on one true tale of terror, told by the real people who lived through it. Their firsthand accounts are brought to life through premium cinematic scene-work, news clips, home photos, and archival footage, combining the visual language of horror films with the tools and techniques of documentaries, creating a uniquely frightening experience for viewers.”
“Each episode will delve into the monstrous evil that lurks beneath the surface of friendly suburbia through the lens of one frightful tale. In addition to firsthand accounts, the episodes will include cinematic reenactments, personal archives, and historic town press coverage.”
The horror master directs one episode in the six-episode series alongside showrunner Jordan Roberts, Michelle Latimer, and Jan Pavlacky.
Carpenter also composes the series’ theme music.
“John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams” is produced by Storm King Productions and DIGA Studios. Executive producers include John Carpenter, Sandy King, Tony DiSanto, Jordan Roberts, Patrick Smith and Andy Portnoy.
October’s Friday the 13th and its densely packed slate of horror releases ensure we may not sleep that weekend, but we’re ok with that if it means the return of John Carpenter in the director’s seat, even for one episode.

For the 36th year, Discovery Channel’s beloved, week-long annual celebration known as “Shark Week” is once again swimming our way, set to kick off on Sunday, July 7, 2024!
Discovery Channel has announced this week that WWE superstar / “Peacemaker” star John Cena will be hosting “Shark Week,” which has been lighting up your summer since 1988.
Discovery previews, “Shark Week hosted by John Cena promises to be an electrifying and unforgettable experience that will leave you in awe of the world beneath the waves.
“One of the highlights of this week-long event will be the premiere of Belly of the Beast Pt. 2, an intense and eye-opening show that delves into the world of great white shark feeding frenzies. You can also look forward to Monster Hammerhead: Species X, a captivating exploration of a potential new species of hammerhead sharks! Plus, Great White Serial Killer: Sea of Blood, a gripping tale of a great white shark wreaking havoc in a local village. And keep an eye out for more incredible shark species to be highlighted this year!”

And speaking of sharks, a whole lot of brand new shark attack horror movies are in the works here in 2024. Lizzy Greene is starring in High Tide and Sean Byrne is directing Dangerous Animals, for starters, while Tommy Wirkola is making his own untitled shark movie.
Also don’t forget about Netflix’s Under Paris, a shark attack horror movie from French filmmaker Xavier Gens that’s premiering on the streaming service on June 5, 2024.
And then there’s the wacky Graveyard Shark, also swimming our way this summer. We’re even getting a third 47 Meters Down movie, which has been titled 47 Meters Down: The Wreck.
