HBO is once again narrowing down the release of the second season of “The Last of Us“, taking to X last night with a brief clip that reveals an April release of Season 2. Of course, HBO is playing coy, and not revealing the exact date of release.
Meanwhile, the new clip kicks off with Abby (played by Kaitlyn Dever), cautiously walking through the hospital that was featured in the first season. We’re then given a barrage of clips from Season 2, with a voiceover from Dever sharing some thoughts that fans of The Last of Us Part II will no doubt recognize.
The second season of HBO’s “The Last of Us“ will only adapt part of The Last of Us Part II, with showrunner Craig Mazin having teased that the story may require a couple of seasons.
Season 2 of “The Last of Us” will see returning cast members Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria. New cast members include Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, and Danny Ramirez as Manny.
The lineup of directors for Season 2 includes Mark Mylod (“Succession,” The Menu) alongside Nina Lopez-Corrado (Perry Mason), Stephen Williams (Watchmen) and Kate Herron (Loki). They join returning directors Mazin, Peter Hoar, and Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann.
