Get your artifacts out, because production has officially commenced on Prime Video’s “Tomb Raider” series.
To commemorate the occasion, Amazon MGM Studios has debuted the first look at Sophie Turner (“Game of Thrones,” X-Men: Apocalypse) as Lara Croft.
Based on the iconic video game franchise, “Tomb Raider” follows the adventures of world-famous archaeologist Lara Croft.
Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, and August Wittgenstein also star.
Creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”) serves as co-showrunner alongside Chad Hodge (“Wayward Pines”). Jonathan Van Tulleken (“Shōgun,” “Misfits”) directs.
The series is produced by Story Kitchen, Crystal Dynamics, and Amazon MGM Studios.
Executive producers include Waller-Bridge, Hodge, Van Tulleken, Jenny Robins, Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, Timothy I. Stevenson, Dallas Dickinson, Michael Scheel, and Legendary Television, with Jan R. Martin producing and Matt McInnis serving as co-executive producer.
Lara Croft was previously played by Angelina Jolie in 2001’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and 2003’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life and by Alicia Vikander in 2018’s Tomb Raider.
