Clive Barker and Bryan Fuller Working Together on a New TV Series

Clive Barker tv series

After reuniting with Mads Mikkelsen for this year’s Dust Bunny, “Hannibal” creator Bryan Fuller is now turning his attention to a mysterious collaboration with a horror legend.

Chatting with Screen Rant this week, Fuller reveals that he’s working on a small screen project with Clive Barker, who of course created, wrote and directed the original Hellraiser!

Bryan Fuller teases in his chat with Screen Rant, “There’s so much that I want to do. I’m writing a script right now that hopefully will be my next directorial effort, and I’m collaborating with Clive Barker on a new television series that’s very exciting, and a dream come true from my childhood. It’s just a matter of time to bring them to life.”

We haven’t heard much about any new Clive Barker film or television adaptations in recent years, but Barker did play an active role in the upcoming video game Hellraiser: Revival.

In fact, the game’s full official title is Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival.

Outside of the long-running Hellraiser universe that he created, the Clive Barker horror tales that have been adapted for the screen include Nightbreed, Rawhead Rex, and Candyman.

Clive Barker told Bloody Disgusting in 2024, “It’s time to focus entirely on writing. In the very room where I’m writing these words, I have the manuscripts for a very large number of projects (31 of them), some very close to completion, others still telling themselves. There are some wild projects in this collection of works, whether close to finished or done. There are also stories that you all knew I would be finishing. Abarat IV and V are amongst the books at my feet. So is the third and final book of The Art and the sequel to The Thief of Always.”

Barker teased in that 2024 statement to BD, “There are also return visits to characters and mythologies you may have thought I would never return to. I hope I am still able to surprise you in the decades ahead. And if you don’t see me at conventions, you’ll keep seeing new Clive Barker books being published, as well as some movie and television adaptations.”
