Netflix’s ‘Scooby-Doo’ Live-Action Series Has Found Its Mystery Inc. Cast

Jinkies! Netflix’s “Scooby-Doo” live-action series has found its Mystery Inc. gang.

Maxwell Jenkins (“Lost in Space”) will play Fred, Tanner Hagen (“The Pitt”) will play Shaggy, and Abby Ryder Fortson (Ant-Man) will play Velma, joining Mckenna Grace (Scream 7) as Daphne.

The modern reimagining will uncover how the iconic mystery-solving kids and their beloved dog first teamed up to crack the haunting case that started it all.

Josh Appelbaum (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) and Scott Rosenberg (Venom, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) serve as showrunners and writers.

During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder.

Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.

Greg Berlanti (“Riverdale,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) will executive produce with Sarah Schechter and Leigh London Redman via Berlanti Productions and its overall deal with Warner Bros. Television.

Appelbaum and Rosenberg are also executive producing via their Midnight Radio alongside André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner.

Toby Haynes (“Andor,” “Black Mirror”) will direct the first of eight episodes, in addition to serving as an executive producer.

Launched by Hanna-Barbera with the 1969 animated series “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!,” Scooby-Doo has remained one of pop culture’s most recognizable characters with more than a dozen animated series, three theatrical films, and more.
