‘The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek’ Trailer – Serial Killer Thriller Series Returns to Netflix in May

A deadly new game begins in the trailer for Netflix’s “The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek.”

The standalone second season of the Danish psychological thriller series, which began with “The Chestnut Man” in 2021, streams May 7.

Danica Curcic and Mikkel Boe Følsgaard are back as lead investigators Naia Thulin and Mark Hess, joined by Sofie Gråbøl and Katinka Lærke Petersen.

A 41-year-old woman is reported missing, and when the police unravel her digital footprints, it becomes evident that she has been stalked for months. An unidentified perpetrator has been playing an involuntary game of hide and seek, surveilling her while sending her not only images and videos but also a seemingly innocent nursery rhyme-style counting song.

When the woman is later found murdered, it becomes evident that this case can be linked to a similar, unsolved murder case of a 17-year-old high school student who was found murdered two years ago. But what is the connection between the two victims? And when will the perpetrator begin to “play” hide and seek again?

Series creators Dorte Warnøe Høgh and Emilie Lebech Kaae return to write, based on the novel by Søren Sveistrup. Milad Alami and Roni Ezra each direct three of the six new episodes.

SAM Productions is behind the show, with Morten Kjems Hytten Juhl and Stine Meldgaard Madsen producing and Meta Louise Foldager Sørensen serving as executive producer.
