We are still waiting to find out the premiere date for Peacock’s upcoming Friday the 13th prequel television series “Crystal Lake,” but the good news there is that we’re inching closer and closer to the Voorhees family returning to our screens. Showrunner Brad Caleb Kane (“IT: Welcome to Derry”) provides the latest update over on Instagram this week.
Brad Caleb Kane writes on Instagram, “All 8 episode final mixes are done and dusted. Which means Coltrane and red wine in a janky air b&b glass. Here’s to teevee!!!!”
He’s referring to the sound mixing for the “Crystal Lake” series with this Instagram post, suggesting that picture editing is locked and the audio tracks have been finalized.
What does that mean? Well, it means that “Crystal Lake” is now in the final stages of post-production. The series is expected here in 2026, but we have no indication at this time on when to expect it. There is, however, one final Friday the 13th this coming November…

William Catlett (Abigail), Cameron Scoggins (“Nashville”), Devin Kessler (“Godfather of Harlem”), and Gwendolyn Sundstrom also star, with Callum Vinson (“Chucky”) as young Jason Voorhees. The cast also includes Nick Cordileone (“Warrior”), Joy Suprano (“Fleishman Is in Trouble”), Danielle Kotch (Sinister), Christopher Denham (“Shining Girls”), Nancy Nagrant (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), and Phoenix Parnevik.
The eight-episode series is set to be directed by Michael Lennox (“Derry Girls”), Celine Held & Logan George (Caddo Lake), and Quyen Tran (“The Pitt”).
