AMC’s horror series “The Terror” returns next month with a brand new season, “The Terror: Devil in Silver,” starring Dan Stevens, and you can preview the opening scene now.

Head into the mysterious New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital with an atmospheric opening scene from “The Terror: Devil in Silver” below. The series premieres May 7 on AMC+ and Shudder.

The series will also air on AMC later this year.

While not seen in the opening clip, Dan Stevens stars as Pepper, a working-class moving man who, through a combination of bad luck and a bad temper, finds himself wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital – an institution filled with those society would rather forget.

There, he must contend with patients working against him, doctors harboring grim secrets, and perhaps even the Devil himself. As Pepper navigates a hellscape where nothing is as it seems, he finds that the only path to freedom is to face the entity that thrives on the suffering within New Hyde’s walls – but doing so may prove that the worst demons of all live inside him.

The opening scene, and the first two episodes of six, is directed by Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s BodyThe Invitation), while Ridley Scott executive produces.

Judith Light, CCH Pounder, Aasif Mandvi, John Benjamin Hickey, Stephen Root, Michael Aronov, Marin Ireland, Chinaza Uche, Hampton Fluker, Hayward Leach, and Philip Ettinger also star in AMC’s “The Terror: Devil in Silver.”

The horror series is based on the 2012 novel by Victor LaValle, who serves as co-showrunner with Chris Cantwell (“Halt and Catch Fire”).

“The Terror” premiered on AMC in 2018, followed by “The Terror: Infamy” in 2019.
