A couple of weeks ago, it was mentioned that after a brief free-to-play weekend, Crytek would be pushing out another update for their PvEvP shooter, Hunt: Showdown. And just like that, Update 2.3 is now live, bringing with it new gadgets and the Water Devil.
The Water Devil is the highlight of this water-themed update. The monster will stalk Hunters who are wading through water. As such, the addition of water-capable weapons was a must, and waxed Dynamite and a waterproofed Firebomb will help Hunters stay alive in fights against the Water Devil.
Things are made more difficult to hunt quarry now, and not just the Water Devil. Ducks (which are now visible on some waterways) will make noise at a player’s approach, alerting enemies and other Hunters that someone is there. Stealth and strategy are therefore now more important to stay alive.

As well, earlier in the week, it was announced that Hunt: Showdown is creeping closer to an Xbox One release with the game becoming available Xbox Game Preview in the near future. If you do purchase the game while it’s in Game Preview, you’ll get the 1.0 version at no additional cost once it’s released.
