In an effort to differentiate its Battle Royale mode from other games that have hopped onto the bandwagon, Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is going back to an old staple: Zombies.
As revealed in the Mystery Box Edition reveal, in addition to the three Zombie experiences in Black Ops 4, players will also have a map, “Blackout”, specifically for Battle Royale gameplay. The map will take familiar locations and multiplayer maps from past Black Ops games and use them as locations within it, but as reported by Game Informer, will also include A.I.-controlled zombies.
No reason has been given as to why the walking dead are in the map in the first place or what they’ll be doing, but with the Black Ops 4 Blackout beta starting on September 10th for PlayStation 4, and a few days later for PC, we’ll find out soon enough.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 hits the ground running on October 12.
