As expected (thanks, Korean Games Ratings Board!), Konami have announced Castlevania Requiem is coming exclusively to the PlayStation 4 via digital download on October 26, 2018 for North America and Europe. The two-game set takes two landmark Castlevania entries, Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night, and bundles them together for retro goodness.
Both games are the originals that will be emulated on the PS4 hardware. However, both have had several updates that take advantage of the PlayStation 4. This includes 4K/1080p upscaling, multiple high-res backgrounds, different rendering options, and full Trophy support. Requiem will also make use of the DualShock 4’s vibration, analog sticks and speaker.
It’s not clear if Rondo will use the translated version found in Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles, or if we get the iconic voice acting for Symphony (since that too got a makeover for Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles), but hey. Having two of the absolute best entries (if not the best) in the Castlevania catalogue to own that don’t require you to sell your kidneys? Sounds good to me.
You can pre-order Castlevania Requiem now on PlayStation Store.
