With Frictional Games’ Amnesia Collection now on two of the three current-gen consoles, there’s the obvious question of when Nintendo will get around to having the series visit the Switch. In fact, Frictional Games’ creative director Thomas Grip is hoping to have the series on Nintendo’s handheld.
“I would love to do Switch content,” says Grip, in speaking with Gamespot. “I grew up with Nintendo being the big platform, so it’s like, ‘Wow, we’re actually doing video games for real now if we can get [the Amnesia Collection] on Nintendo!’ And it would just be cool to get it on a handheld as well, because I think that should work for Amnesia and other games as well. We’re looking into it and seeing what can be done. We’re hoping–if everything goes as we hope–we hope we’ll have it [on Switch].”
It’d honestly be a no-brainer for Frictional to do this, given the Switch is already home to horror-centric games like the Outlast series, as well as Layers of Fear. And it’s also not going to be a series that would tax the system’s capabilities, either. Time will tell if we do get it, however.
