For the veteran Castlevania fans, Konami disappointed with the recently-released Castlevania Requiem. And while the Lords of Shadow series didn’t do much for them either, for those that did enjoy that series, you can now count it as part of the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program.
Announced by Xbox Director of Programming Larry Hryb on Twitter, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, its expansion, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 are now backwards compatible with the Xbox One, along with Avalanche Studios’ Just Cause.
It should be noted that if you don’t already own Lords of Shadow, and are looking to buy it digitally from the Microsoft store, the game may not be available for all regions. In that case, you’ll have to spring for the physical disc, pop it into your Xbox, and enjoy it that way.
Yes, long-suffering Castlevania continue to get the cold shoulder, but at least the Netflix show has been given the green light for a third season.
