Similar to how NeoBards tweaked the difficulty for Silent Hill f after launch, Screen Burn has updated Silent Hill Townfall to rebalance the game’s difficulty. But unlike Silent Hill f getting Casual mode, Townfall has received a new Hard difficulty as a result of the tweaks.
Update 1.6.0 includes a new Hard difficulty mode, as well as rebalancing gameplay elements across all difficulty modes to account for the new difficulty mode. The result aims to offer players a ‘smoother difficulty curve’. This includes changes such as resource adjustment, as well as making the player’s position visible on the map. Enemy hearing sensitivity now varies by difficulty, which will increase with the difficulty level. Finally, the Weight’s attack severity reduction is limited to Story Mode only.
The update also UX / UI improvement, as well as adding the DLSS Ray Reconstruction option for PC, along with the usual bug fixes.
Developed by Screen Burn and co-published by Annapurna Interactive and Konami, Silent Hill Townfall is available for PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. And in case you missed it, a recent report claims that Bloober Team’s upcoming remake of the original Silent Hill is apparently eyeing a 2027 release.
