‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies’ Celebration Event Starts Tomorrow

Kicking off January 15th (tomorrow), Treyarch have revealed plans for a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies 115 Day celebration event.

The event, posted on Reddit, will have XP bonuses and three new Epic Elixirs added to the game, as well as a series of tough-as-nails challenges. Appropriately named as Gauntlets, these 30-round challenges are designed to test the skills of Zombies veterans.

“Gauntlets in Black Ops 4 Zombies are curated 30-round challenges with unique rules for each round, kicking off with “Unsinkable” in Voyage of Despair.

Players will receive Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals and special tier-based rewards upon completing rounds 10, 20, and 30, as well as a unique reward (and bragging rights) for completing round 30 without failing a round. Players will also earn bonus Nebulium Plasma rewards when reaching each new milestone for the first time, so it pays to give every Gauntlet run your best shot.

Rules can vary wildly round-to-round, ranging from weapon restrictions and time limitations to area defense challenges with dangerous enemy modifiers, and everything in-between. If you and your crew fail to complete a round as instructed, you’ll earn a Strike. If you receive three Strikes, it’s game over and you’ll have to start from round 1 again.”

Additional Gauntlets with their own unique challenges will be released throughout 2019.

Elsewhere, the game will receive a new update, most notably overhauling the Blackout mode’s looting interface, which should make it easier for players to collect weapons, items and ammo from the environment. As well, two new limited-time modes are set to arrive as part of the latest update, with the details being provided tomorrow.

Finally, Treyarch will be expanding Black Ops 4’s multiplayer with a new set of featured playlists, as well as implementing a number of stability and quality of life improvements, fully incorporating the Elevation and Madagascar maps into the rotation for Black Ops Pass holders, and laying the groundwork for League Play (scheduled to arrive before the end of January).

While you wait for Alien: Romulus, the folks over at Devilworks have cooked up their own slice of “mockbuster” fun with Alien Hunt, and we’re debuting the trailer here on BD this morning.

This brand-new sci-fi horror from director Aaron Mirtes (The Bigfoot Trap, Painted in Blood) is set for its US premiere on May 14, and you can find it on digital thanks to Devilworks.

You can exclusively watch the official trailer for Alien Hunt below, which looks to combine elements of Alien and Predator. This particular “mockbuster” has very little interest in hiding its inspirations, with the alien designs plucked straight out of H.R. Giger’s beautiful brain. Hey, if you’re going to pull from other movies, might as well take from the all-time greats!

In Alien Hunt, “On a hunting trip in the wilderness, a group of siblings discovers an abandoned military outpost on their land, but is it what it seems?

“Their trip takes a sinister turn when they find themselves facing off against a relentless army of extra-terrestrial beings. Suddenly, the hunters become the hunted.

“The formidable squad of alien soldiers will stop at nothing to wipe out the enemy and in an all-out, brutal battle for survival, it’s kill or be killed in Alien Hunt.”

Barron Boedecker (Escape Pod, The Bigfoot Trap), Brent Bentley (The Perfect In-Laws, Haunt Season), Deiondre Teagle (The Visitor, Painted in Blood, Death Ranch), Chelsey Fuller (The Bigfoot Trap, The Silent Natural), Jesse Santoyo (A Nashville Country Christmas, Potter’s Ground), and Adam Pietripaoli (The Bigfoot Trap, The OctoGames) star.
