Capcom Offers up Details on ‘Resident Evil 2’ DLC ‘The Ghost Survivors’

You’re probably waiting with baited breath for Resident Evil 2‘s first DLC in “The Ghost Survivors” on Friday (that’s February 15th, in case you’re wondering). You’re probably also wondering just what the DLC is about. Lucky for you, Capcom have provided details on the three different scenarios available with the DLC.

The Ghost Survivors has you escaping from Raccoon City by any means necessary using three characters that never survived the night things went down.

“No Time to Mourn” has you playing as Robert Kendo, owner of the Gun Shop Kendo. Those who have played the game already know how he ends up, but in “The Ghost Survivors”, he’s given a second chance thanks to an old friend with a helicopter. Guns in hand, Robert sets out into the streets to seek a way out from the infected city. Standing in his way is a new type of poisonous zombie.

In “Runaway”, you play as the mayor’s daughter, Katherine. Looking to escape Raccoon City with a certain someone, Ms. Warren must navigate the streets while avoiding a strangely mutated type of zombie that can only be stopped with particularly powerful ammunition.

Lastly, there’s “Forgotten Soldier”, starring a U.S.S. agent codenamed Ghost. Deep within the laboratory underneath the city, Ghost attempts his escape. Having to deal with hordes of zombies is bad enough, but what do you do when they’re covered in armor?

Depending on the difficulty, you start with more items if you choose the Training difficulty. And unlike The 4th Survivor, you can pick up additional items along the way, either by defeating specific enemies, or by using vending machines.

Completing the scenarios will unlock goodies for you to customize your character, as well as unique challenges that offer more items to unlock. You can read more on the scenarios by visiting the official PlayStation blog.

While you wait for Alien: Romulus, the folks over at Devilworks have cooked up their own slice of “mockbuster” fun with Alien Hunt, and we’re debuting the trailer here on BD this morning.

This brand-new sci-fi horror from director Aaron Mirtes (The Bigfoot Trap, Painted in Blood) is set for its US premiere on May 14, and you can find it on digital thanks to Devilworks.

You can exclusively watch the official trailer for Alien Hunt below, which looks to combine elements of Alien and Predator. This particular “mockbuster” has very little interest in hiding its inspirations, with the alien designs plucked straight out of H.R. Giger’s beautiful brain. Hey, if you’re going to pull from other movies, might as well take from the all-time greats!

In Alien Hunt, “On a hunting trip in the wilderness, a group of siblings discovers an abandoned military outpost on their land, but is it what it seems?

“Their trip takes a sinister turn when they find themselves facing off against a relentless army of extra-terrestrial beings. Suddenly, the hunters become the hunted.

“The formidable squad of alien soldiers will stop at nothing to wipe out the enemy and in an all-out, brutal battle for survival, it’s kill or be killed in Alien Hunt.”

Barron Boedecker (Escape Pod, The Bigfoot Trap), Brent Bentley (The Perfect In-Laws, Haunt Season), Deiondre Teagle (The Visitor, Painted in Blood, Death Ranch), Chelsey Fuller (The Bigfoot Trap, The Silent Natural), Jesse Santoyo (A Nashville Country Christmas, Potter’s Ground), and Adam Pietripaoli (The Bigfoot Trap, The OctoGames) star.
