Publisher 505 Games has hit back at rumours saying that the console version of Overkill’s The Walking Dead is cancelled. Responding to rumours from Reddit that started when one user said that their pre-order for the PS4 version of the game had been cancelled due to the game no longer being shipped, the publisher took to Twitter to quash the rumours.
We just wanted to clear the position on the OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead on console and confirm that the game has not been cancelled, purely postponed whilst development is on-going. We will share further news as soon as possible.

To be fair, this sort of rumour is expected, given Starbreeze’s announcement that the console version of the title was hitting delays due to Starbreeze’s own financial issues. That, combined with the lukewarm reception of the game (given its rushed development and Starbreeze’s efforts to cut costs), there is understandable concern that the game might not hit consoles.
But who knows? Perhaps in a week, we’ll get an announcement that the console release has a release date. Until then, you can always check the game out on Steam.
