Sure, university isn’t that scary (depending on your courses), but as with any good horror story, it’s the taking of a mundane and turning your expectations on its head. Case in point: Real Game Machine’s upcoming title, Follia – Dear father. Set for release this Fall for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as a VR version for HTC Vive and PlayStation VR.
The game casts you as Marcus Pitt, whose only claim to fame is that both of his parents work at a university. It’s at said university where Marcus is searching for said parents, but stumbles into the horrors that have emerged on the university campus.
As he makes his way through the campus, Marcus will have to fight with the small number of items that he’ll find in order to make it out alive and with his sanity intact. Follia emphasizes exploration, with the need to backtrack at certain points (and be rewarded for doing so), as well as collecting the necessary items.
While a bit rough in some spots, the trailer gives off that necessary atmosphere and creepy visuals that, for those who enjoyed Layers of Fear, you’ll feel right at home.
