To the surprise of fans (well, not really), 2K and Gearbox’s Borderlands 3 (which we reviewed here) has not only sold a lot of copies, it’s sold five million of them in the past five days. On top of that, the game has now become 2K’s fastest-selling game in their history.
In spite of making the game an Epic Games Store exclusive (which annoyed more than a few people), digital sales of the third entry in the series made up 70 percent of those five million. According to 2K, Borderlands 3 is also the highest-selling PC game in the publisher’s history, and broke preorder records with the Epic Games Store. The five million total hasn’t been broken down by platform, however.
Borderlands 3 is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
