Ahead of the physical release of DayZ next month, developer Bohemia Interactive has announced a brand new map for the game. Coming soon to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC is Livonia, which is “163km of lush green landscapes, dense forestry, serene lakes, winding rivers, and bears”.
Inspired by the recently released map from the Arma 3 Contact spin-off expansion, the Livonia region “brings a fresh new experience to the post-apocalyptic world of DayZ.” The landscape isn’t the only change of pace for the map. The map will also feature frequent rainfall and thunderstorms, providing players with additional environmental challenges during their travels – and making protective gear and shelter more important than ever.
And then of course there are the bears. Attacking both zombie and human alike, you’ll have to be well-equipped to deal effectively with Smokey.
No specific release date has been announced for the new DLC, other than the nebulous “coming soon”. DayZ is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
