‘Hitman 2’ Gets in The Halloween Spirit With New Costumes And Missions

Published

on

The final expansion for IO Interactive’s Hitman 2 is out now, but that’s not stopping the devs from releasing more content. In fact, according to the October roadmap, we’re in for more treats than tricks.

The first event for October begins today in Miami, with the Riviera Restoration Escalation Contract. Following that is a three-part Escalation in Mumbai on October 10. That mission will get you the Imperial Classic with Gloves outfit, which was previously only unlockable through an Elusive Target. Then, on October 11, the Warlord will be returning in the month’s only Legacy Elusive Target.

Things really get into Halloween mode on October 17, when IO will show off the community-created contracts, all with a trick or treat theme. Submissions for the contracts ends on October 14. This all leads up to the Halloween Escalation Contract, which hits on October 22.

As for this Contract’s contents, it’s still a mystery, but players are promised two rewards. On the same day, Legacy Challenge Packs will be added into Hitman 2, allowing owners of the Legacy Pack a trio of challenges to complete, each of them unlocking an outfit and weapon. Complete them all, and Agent 47 will have everything he needs if someone finally invites him to a Halloween party.

October 25 brings us a serial killer in Whittleton Creek as the Elusive Target, followed by the chance to becoming a slasher movie villain in the Hawke’s Bay challenge pack on October 31. Hokkaido and Sapienza Legacy Escalations will be appearing on the same day, if you’d like to revisit two of the previous game’s best missions.

Hitman 2 is currently out for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

‘El Paso, Elsewhere’ – LaKeith Stanfield Starring in Adaptation of Monster Hunting Video Game

Published

Last year’s monster hunting shooter El Paso, Elsewhere is headed to the screen, with THR reporting that LaKeith Stanfield (Haunted Mansion) will star in the live action film adaptation.

Stanfield will also produce the film alongside Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

THR notes in today’s report, “There is no writer or director, as the project is still being packaged in the hopes of finding a studio home. The package is seen as buzzy, as it is a video game adaptation, a bustling genre thanks to titles such as The Last of Us, the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and the most recent hit, Fallout.”

In the upcoming movie version of El Paso, Elsewhere, “Recovering from a toxic relationship, James Savage (LaKeith Stanfield) confronts both his inner demons and enigmatic ex-girlfriend, Janet, before she executes a world-ending ritual. James navigates her reality-bending universe of ethereal monsters while facing the truth of his own addictions and skewed sense of self-worth. James learns that the only route to love is through healing.”

Developer Strange Scaffold’s El Paso, Elsewhere was released this past September.

Aaron Boehm wrote in his 4-star review here on Bloody Disgusting, “Much like its inspiration Max Payne, and other games in Remedy’s catalog, there’s a clear vision that unites every frame of this game, making for an experience that both reignites a classic action subgenre and forges an identity all its own. Few games have a better elevator pitch than El Paso, Elsewhere, and it’s awesome to see it live up to those expectations with style and heart.”
