Fans of IO Interactive’s efforts with Hitman 2 will be rewarded again in the future, as alluded to in the game’s November roadmap, the next installment is under way.
But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. The November roadmap for Hitman 2 unfortunately states that while we won’t be getting new missions this month, there’s still a wealth of Featured Contracts coming, as well as the addition of Community-curated Contracts. There will also be some Seasonal Content added added to the game permanently, though the announcement doesn’t specify what that would be. There’s also a new Escalation and Elusive Contract coming in December.
But the big news, obviously, is that along with the roadmap, IO Interactive states that the company is “looking increasingly to the future”. They outright say what that means: “In real terms, we’re moving more and more of the Hitman 2 team to join the next Hitman game, which is well underway.”
As for what 2020 will bring the game, IOI states that they will “focus on continuing to add Featured Contracts as well as introduce Community-curated Contracts into the game,” as well as planning to re-activate past Elusive Targets to give players a chance to snag any loot they missed the first time. Which also means you get to kill Sean Bean all over again.
Hitman 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
