‘Wasteland 2 Director’s Cut’ Available For Free on GOG.com as Part of Winter Sale

Published

on

GOG.com has kicked off their annual Winter sale, and is typically the case, for the next 48 hours, you can snag a game for absolutely free. In this case, the game in question is the sequel to original Fallout producer Brian Fargo’s return to the game that started it all (hope that makes sense), Wasteland 2 Director’s Cut Digital Classic Edition!

To grab the game, all you need to do is head over to GOG.com, sign up and then head to the Wasteland 2 page, click the button and it’s yours.

Released in 2015, Wasteland 2 returns to the series that begat Fallout. Wasteland 2 begins in 2102, fifteen years after the events of the original Wasteland. After a member of the Desert Rangers is found dead, the player is sent to investigate what happened, while also tasked with completing the dead Ranger’s mission.

Wasteland 3, currently in development for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, is due out May 19, 2020.

2007 FPS Horror Game ‘Dementium: The Ward’ Heads to PlayStation Today [Trailer]

In a blast from the past, developer atooi will release today Dementium: The Ward for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The first-person horror shooter originally got its start on the Nintendo DS back in 2007, before making its way to the 3DS in 2015, and finally landing on the Switch last October.

The PlayStation version of Dementium offers up “crunchy retro” and revamped HD display modes (presumably, this is similar to the free update the Switch version received last year), and has been “built from the ground up for the big screen”. Obviously, the game will lose its touchscreen capabilities from the Nintendo consoles, but will still run at a silky 60 frames per second.

Dementium: The Ward centres around William Redmoor, a man with amnesia, who wakes up in a seemingly abandoned medical ward. He soon finds out that he’s not quite as alone as he initially thought, as demonic creatures are roaming the hospital. Equipped with a flashlight and a nightstick, William must not only fend off the creatures, but also solve puzzles and find the exit and escape.

No word on if the sequel, Dementium II (which was also originally released in 2007 for the Nintendo DS), will be given the same treatment.
