Creative fans have been cooking up tributes in Media Molecule’s Dreams for quite a while now. And the latest happens to take CD Projekt Red’s upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 and “demakes” it into a PS1-styled game. YouTuber Bearly Regal is the person responsible for this creation. “Cyberpunk 1997” lasts about four minutes, and kicks off with the player in their apartment, which features an armory to swap out weapons. And just for the sake of immersion, everything in the apartment is customizable.
Players can also visit the marketplace, where they can buy a variety of goods, such as snacks, clothing or body enhancements. You can also drive around Night City in a top-down perspective that is reminiscent of the very first Grand Theft Auto. You won’t be running anyone over for cash, however.
Cyberpunk 2077 comes home on April 16 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A Google Stadia version is expected at a later date.
