Rumour: ‘Resident Evil 3’ Remake Co-Developer M-Two Working on Another Capcom Remake?
Capcom’s remake of Resident Evil 3 (read our review here) isn’t even out yet, but that’s not stopping the rumour mill from churning for the title’s co-developer, M-Two.
According to an article by VGC Report on the co-dev being helmed by former Platinum CEO Tatsuya Minami, who was a “key figure” behind the RE3 remake, M-Two is currently working “as the primary developer on a larger remake project” for Capcom. This goes hand in hand with rumours last year that Capcom was looking at other projects for the remake treatment, along with registering new trademarks.
Adding fuel to the rumours are tweets by noteworthy Twitter source Nibellion, as well as Dusk Golem, the latter who had tweeted out rumours of Resident Evil 8 being in development.
In their latest series of tweets, DuskGolem1 reiterates that the 2021 Resident Evil project (which is is not one of the Sega Dreamcast’s Code Veronica or the cult classic Dino Crisis) has been in development for a while. “The 2021 RE game started development in late 2016, by the time it releases it’ll have been in development for 4-4.5 years.”
That still doesn’t answer the question of just what Capcom is planning to remake with M-Two at the helm. Of course, this once again is all speculation and rumours. Then again, Capcom have teased fans before…
Resident Evil 3, together with Resident Evil Resistance, is due out April 3 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
