Originally scheduled for release in February before being bumped to May 29th, The Last of Us Part II was again delayed earlier this month, with no new release date provided at the time.

Today, in the direct wake of a massive leak that dominated the conversation just this morning, we’ve learned that Naughty Dog’s sequel will now release on June 19, 2020.

Ghost of Tsushima will follow on July 17, PlayStation also announced.

PlayStation’s Hermen Hulst said in a statement today, “I want to personally congratulate and thank both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements, as we know it’s not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances. Both teams have worked hard to deliver world-class experiences, and we can’t wait to see what you think of them when they release in just a few short months. And finally, I want to thank the PlayStation Community for their continuous support and patience.”

In The Last of Us Part II, Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors.

When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.
