New Free DLC Added to ‘Predator: Hunting Grounds’ Today

Published

Prior to NECA getting in on the fun with Predator: Hunting Grounds, IllFonic have released the free June update for the asymmetrical multiplayer shooter. As reported on PlayStation Blog, the game will also see paid DLC later this month.

For the free update, you now have the ability to earn Dutch’s QR5, “Hammerhead,” rifle and his knife. In addition, for customization options, you now have more tints, skins, and shaders that can be found and unlocked in the field lockers. The customizations are the Obsidian Shader for Predator Weapons, Obsidian Tint for Predator Masks, Crimson Tint for Predator Armors, Sage Tint for Predator Armors, Ivy Tint for Default Predator Skin Patterns, Hydra Tint for Raptor Predator Skin Patterns, Blue Viper Shader for Fireteam Weapons, Digital Tint for Fireteam Outfits, Full Suite of Hammerhead Weapon Shaders, and Special Shader’s for Dutch’s Knife.

On top of that, the level cap has been increased to 150, as well as the addition of “chase items” for encouragement to reach that level. Platinum Predator armor and mask tints are rewarded for reaching level 100, followed by Fireteam Knives and the Hammerhead assault rifle. Once players reach level 150, they will gain access to the Elder Predator class, as well as Golden Predator armor and mask tints. IllFonic have also added a special set of Elite Fireteam weapon shaders that unlock once you reach weapon level 10 for each gun.

As for the paid DLC, IllFonic will launch a new Predator: The Samurai Predator. You can find more information and purchase the Samurai Predator on June 30 at the PlayStation and Epic stores.

Predator: Hunting Grounds is available now on PlayStation 4 and PC via the Epic Games Store.

2007 FPS Horror Game ‘Dementium: The Ward’ Heads to PlayStation Today [Trailer]

In a blast from the past, developer atooi will release today Dementium: The Ward for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The first-person horror shooter originally got its start on the Nintendo DS back in 2007, before making its way to the 3DS in 2015, and finally landing on the Switch last October.

The PlayStation version of Dementium offers up “crunchy retro” and revamped HD display modes (presumably, this is similar to the free update the Switch version received last year), and has been “built from the ground up for the big screen”. Obviously, the game will lose its touchscreen capabilities from the Nintendo consoles, but will still run at a silky 60 frames per second.

Dementium: The Ward centres around William Redmoor, a man with amnesia, who wakes up in a seemingly abandoned medical ward. He soon finds out that he’s not quite as alone as he initially thought, as demonic creatures are roaming the hospital. Equipped with a flashlight and a nightstick, William must not only fend off the creatures, but also solve puzzles and find the exit and escape.

No word on if the sequel, Dementium II (which was also originally released in 2007 for the Nintendo DS), will be given the same treatment.
