If “Project Boneyard” wasn’t enough for you, Red Barrels is set to up the ante with the new Season 7.1 “Chemical Leak” Limited-Time Event for The Outlast Trials. On now until Tuesday, October 6 at 10:00 ET, Chemical Leak will fill Trial environments with toxic gas, tasking Reagents with finding and shutting off valves before the air turns against them.
Free for current owners of The Outlast Trials, reagents can also take on two new MK-Challenges, unlock rewards through the new Chemical Leak Limited-Time Catalog, and experience a new round of improvements, balancing updates, and quality-of-life additions across Invasion, Escalation, and the wider therapy experience.
In the new Limited-Time Event “Chemical Leak”, a chemical leak is filling the Trials with toxic gas. Reagents must locate valves throughout the environment and shut them off to clear the air from each area. In addition, a brand-new Catalog is available for the duration of the Chemical Leak Limited-Time Event. Spend your Event Tokens before the air clears.
As for the two new MK-Challenges, players have Change the Program, where you are the crier who knows that news does not have to be journalism; it only has to be new. Spread our truth, change the program, and you’ll be set free. There’a also Fund the Campaign, where you are the hammer in the hands of a child, to shatter the fragile swine who would separate success from the government it created. Money is the future of speech. Fund the campaign, and you’ll be let you out.
Season 7.1 also brings a fresh round of bug fixes, balancing updates, and improvements across The Outlast Trials, with particular attention to Invasion, Escalation, online stability, and player settings.
Speaking of Invasion and Escalation, both modes have been given updates, with Season 7.1 further improving the experience for players. Invasion receives several updates designed to improve fairness, readability, and flow during high-pressure encounters. Reagents remain focused on the hunting and the escaping; Murkoff takes care of the rest. For Escalation, community feedback helped improve stability, and players’ progress is saved in the event of a lost connection.
Season 7.1 also introduces broader improvements across the game. Check out the patch notes to read the full list of upgrades.
The Outlast Trials is available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox.
