Well, that didn’t take long. Fans of Red Hook Studios’ Roguelike Darkest Dungeon have been waiting for the Mythic Games board game adaptation for a while now, and with the Kickstarter funding campaign kicking off yesterday, it’s probably no surprise that the game has already reached its $300K goal just one day in.
In fact, the game so far has crushed that initial goal with over $1.2 million (yes, you read that right) with 29 days left in the campaign. Needless to say, that’s a lot of stretch goals being attained. This includes the free Musketeer hero figurine, alongside an expansion for the game based on The Crimson Court DLC with new miniatures, tiles, and cards as add-ons. And yes, there are still more to come.
The Kickstarter campaign states that the board game will reamin faithful to the video game as a co-operative tabletop experience for up to 4 players. As in the original game, players will take on challenges by venturing into dungeons as various characters and classes, all the while dealing with the stress and effects of venturing into said dungeons.
