Kojima Productions Hints at “Exciting Updates” to Mark 5th Anniversary

Published

UPDATE: Sadly, we were skunked again in terms of an announced DLC/new game. But, at least we have a nice retrospective of the year it’s been for the developer, including a BAFTA award.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since Hideo Kojima broke away from longtime developer/publisher Konami and established his own company, Kojima Productions. His first title post-Konami in Death Stranding continued Kojima’s penchant for complicated storytelling, while at the same time delivering a fascinating yet convoluted experience.

So, what’s next, you ask?

According to Kojima, that “next” will be revealed tomorrow on Twitter to mark the fifth anniversary of Kojima Productions’ founding. What exactly that will be remains to be seen.

There’s the long-running rumour that DLC for Death Stranding is still in the cards, not to mention that Silent Hill rumour is still kicking around. Perhaps we’ll even get a new game announcement? As always, the only sure thing is to keep an eye on Twitter at midnight ET tonight to see what Kojima has in mind.

Death Stranding is out now on PC via Steam and the Epic Game Store, and on PlayStation 4.
