Latest ‘State of Decay 2’ Update Adds Extra Control Support For Consoles, Ally Recruitment Changes And More

Published

on

In spite of the focus on State of Decay 3‘s development, Undead Labs have given State of Decay 2 players something to chew on in the form of a new update. The recent Update 24 not only adds mouse & keyboard support for Xbox players, but adds some new goodies to the game, including the ability to recruit any non-hostile NPC into your fold.

With the new update, you can recruit every non-hostile enclave member that is not involved in a mission or situation. Of course, you’ll have to cough up some Influence to do it. But other than that, the only thing you need to do is to contact a new enclave using a radio and have a meeting.

  • Allied enclaves still allow you to recruit for free
  • Friendly enclaves now allow you to recruit for 750 Influence
  • Neutral enclaves now allow you to recruit for 1500 Influence

Also included in the update is the Trumbull Valley Pack, which includes six weapons, four outfits, and the Improvised Weapon Station that allows you to craft weapons. As well, seeing that it’s Black History Month, players can also snag a new shirt that will be available in your closet once you log in to the game.

Lastly, Bounty Broker packs will have a new scheduled cycle next month, which means by the beginning of every month, a new pack will be replaced by another one. For example, the Pawn Shop Pack is scheduled to be added to the game in March, with the Fearsome Footage Pack being removed. At the end of the cycle, Fearsome Footage will return to the Bounty Broker.

State of Decay 2 Juggernaut Edition is available for Xbox OneXbox Series, and PC. State of Decay 3 is currently in development for the Xbox Series and PC.

Physical PS5 Release Announced for Underwater Horror Title ‘Dark Mass’ [Trailer]

Path Games provided an update for its in-development underwater haunted house title Dark Mass, revealing that the game will receive a physical release for PlayStation 5 as both a Standard Edition and a Collector’s Edition. The reveal also coincides with a new trailer that delves into the gameplay.

Dark Mass sees players take on the role of Alice, a deep-sea explorer who, alongside her brother Reed, stumbles upon the wreckage of an ancient ship. But beneath the ship lies they discover a manor lost to time, eerily untouched despite spending centuries in the ocean.

Alice decides to venture inside, but she soon realises that something is watching from the darkness, bound to the manor by a dark curse. Trapped within the manor’s decaying halls, Alice must now uncover the manor’s tragic past, solve puzzles based on real historical torture rituals, and make decisions that will ultimately define her fate.

Both the Standard Edition and Collector’s Edition will be published by SelectaPlay, with the Collector’s Edition having been designed “for horror fans and collectors,” bringing together a selection of physical items inspired by Alice’s journey, the mystery of the sunken manor and the unsettling atmosphere of the abyss.

The Standard Edition includes a physical copy of the game, along with an illustrated manual. Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition includes the physical copy and manual, along with the following:

  • Collector’s Box
  • Official Art Book
  • Lenticular postcard
  • Alice’s turtle bracelet
  • Original Soundtrack in Digipack format
  • Exclusive Steelbook

In addition to the PlayStation 5, Dark Mass will be coming to the Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. The game is currently aiming for a fall 2026 release.
