[Trailer] Crytek Reveals New Boss For ‘Hunt: Showdown’

Published

on

Alongside the massive 1.5 update for Hunt: Showdown, Crytek has been holding a new event that began last week. And today, the devs have revealed the brand-new monster that you’ll be able to hunt in the form of veteran soldier turned abomination in Scrapbeak.

“As The Crow Flies” celebrates three years of Crytek’s shooter (which you really should check out), which will run until April 12. Everyone who logs in during the event will receive Dark Miasma (a new Legendary Chain pistol) and one Iron Reliquary, which boosts your Event Point accumulation.

Not only that, but the event has two parts, the first of which is almost unlocked. The first, A Murder of Crows, involves the entire community earning Event Points to unlock Scrapbeak. Currently, the first part has less than 500k points left to unlock the boss.

Once Scrapbeak is unlocked, part two, As the Crow Flies, will begin. During this part of the event, Event Points will go towards your personal progression to unlock exclusive, event-related gear. Once you hit the daily limit for Event Points, they will in turn go towards your Hunter’s XP.

So, the question is: How do you unlock Event Points? Well, in keeping with the theme of the event, you have various bird-themed tasks, along with searching for clues and the usual killing of bosses:

  • Destroying small bird models (1 Event Point)
  • Destroying large bird models (2 Event Points)
  • Destroying a murder of crows (1 Event Point)
  • Investigating event-related clues and rifts (2 Event Points)
  • Killing a boss (3 Event Points)

Once Scrapbeak is unlocked, killing him will nab you 6 Event Points. Once As The Crow Flies is complete, any leftover Event Points are turned into Hunt Dollars.

Lastly, the event also brings with it a new Hunter in the form of The Plague Doctor, as well as new gear. You can read up on the details from the official site.

Hunt Showdown is available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

Come Face to Face With the Zombie Menace in the Story Trailer for ‘Zombie Army VR’ [Watch]

While there’s no definitive release date just yet, Rebellion is teasing fans with a new story trailer for the upcoming Zombie Army VR, which is expected to arrive later this year. The new trailer gives fans and prospective players a glimpse at the Zombie Army VR story campaign, which as you might have guessed, involves occult magic, waves of zombies, and plenty of headshots.

The game’s campaign takes place alongside the events of the Zombie Army series, and sees you take to the field as one of the Deadhunters, an elite squad that is hunting down zombie war criminals. You must fight your way through undead hordes near the bombed-out city of Nuremberg to help Captain Hermann Wolff, the Deadhunter’s legendary leader, find his scattered family and fight to free Europe from the zombie apocalypse.

As you navigate the full-length story campaign either alone or with an ally, you’ll have access to an arsenal of authentic World War II weaponry, including sniper rifles, submachine guns, pistols and more. As one would expect, VR brings a new level of immersion to the action of the Zombie Army series, which will require you to “get to grips” with using your hands to aim your rifle, dual-wield your side arm with a submachine gun, master reloading drills, and tossing grenades.

Zombie Army VR is currently in development for the PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 2, 3, Pro, Oculus Rift and PC headsets via Steam.
