‘Hellgate: London’ Expands Into VR With Single-Player Shooter ‘Hellgate VR’

Published

on

Ah, Hellgate: London. You were supposed to be a Diablo killer, but you ended up being killed yourself, only to be resurrected in 2018 by T3Entertainment. Well, now we have a spin-off with Hellgate VR, which has just launched on Steam.

Unlike its predecessor, Hellgate VR is a strictly single-player affair, and is available for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The game is described as a “VR shooting game that uses uses Unreal 4 Engine to create a unique post-apocalypse atmosphere with high-quality graphics.”

The story for the title involves you as a member of the Salvation Army, who is tasked with being part of the coming counterattack against the demons that have invaded London after the Halloween Battle. You are part of ‘Operation CLAPHAM’, which is meant to air-deliver food and water stored in London underground shelters to the Templar base. Of course, things go south, and you’ve got to ventilate some demons.

As part of its launch, Hellgate VR is having a 20% discount for prospective players until April 7. So, if you’re keen on getting into some first-person VR action, this might be something to check out.

Thanks to Dread XP for the heads up.
