Bloober Team Responds to Rumours Regarding Grants; Developer Currently Working on Two “Large Projects”
Last week, it was reported that Bloober Team had received grants for three projects, one of which turned out to be Layers of Fear 2, fueling speculation in some circles that Bloober Team’s recent strategic partnership deal with Konami might have one of these turn into a new Silent Hill game. In a new interview with IGN, Bloober Team CMO Tomasz Gawlikowski set the record straight, shooting down speculation (and hope) that Bloober Team was working on the storied franchise’s return.
As mentioned, the first grant was for a project known as “H2O”, which had been proven to have been 2019’s Layers of Fear 2. The second grant was for a project known as “Dum Spiro“, which was a WWII-theme horror title. Unfortunately, Gawlikowski confirmed that after several attempts at creating a game that was “appropriately sensitive to the topic and commercially viable at the same time”, Dun Spiro is no longer in active development.
Lastly, “Black” was a medieval-themed first-person title that likewise has been given the axe. However, Gawlikowski did state that a new project under the same codename is still under development, saying that “it’s now a much different project than what you could read on the web in the past few days”.
As for just what Bloober Team is working on right now, Gawlikowski can’t say. However, he did say that “multiple large projects” are in the works. “At Bloober Team we have two active internal projects, one in the production phase and one in the pre-production phase. Both are going to be bigger in scope than The Medium, however, neither of them is based on themes or premises that have been circulating online in the last days.”
The plot thickens as to what exactly the road back to Silent Hill looks like, but for now, Bloober Team isn’t part of it.

‘Dead by Daylight: The Life Road’ Chapter Now Available on PC, Consoles
Just like The Fog, the 10th Anniversary celebrations continue for Dead by Daylight, this time with the arrival of Shane Wiigwaas, the newest Survivor debuting in Dead by Daylight: The Life Road, which is available now on PC and consoles. An Anishinaabe defense attorney whose unwavering pursuit of justice drove him straight into The Fog, Shane becomes the game’s first indigenous Survivor, bringing a powerful story, unique perspective, and versatile set of Perks to the game.
Growing up in the Glass River First Nation, Shane Wiigwaas was driven by a simple belief: justice wasn’t about punishment, but rather restoring balance. That conviction led him to become a defense attorney, advocating for First Nation clients and others in need.
When Shane’s cousin Derek was accused of murdering a police officer, the evidence seemed overwhelming despite Derek’s insistence that the officer had vanished into a mysterious cloud of black fog. Though Shane believed the story, he urged his cousin to accept a plea deal – something Derek refused, determined to stand by the truth. The result was a life sentence without parole. A decision that would haunt Shane for the rest of his days.
Leaving home, he traveled on his motorcycle, helping others where we could, and searching for answers about the strange fog that had destroyed his cousin’s life. His search led him to the Pacific Northwest, where he set out to investigate the unexplained disappearance of a man named Jake Park. Shane ventured into the forest, to the spot of Jake’s vanishing… and was never seen again.
Shane arrives with three new character-specific Perks designed to reward bold decision-making, teamwork, and an assertive play style.
Wide Open Throttle gives Shane the ability to gain a burst of Haste after Fast Vaulting a Pallet, while also resetting the Pallet and blocking it for a considerable duration. During this time, his teammates will be able to see the blocked Pallet’s Aura. Cross-Examination brings new evidence to light, allowing Shane to see a trail of the Killer’s Light Marks when inside their Terror Radius. Following the trail also provides a burst of Haste. Finally, Lend a Hand unlocks a special healing ability once per Trial when blessing or cleansing a Totem. Shane can activate the ability to give the teammate healing a small increase in permanent healing charges.
As for cosmetics, The Life Road Collection launches with two Outfits inspired by the experiences that shaped Shane. Shane’s Rare Law School Nights Outfit offers the casual comfort of a hoodie, joggers, and colored braid wraps worn as a student earning his degree in Northern Ontario. Meanwhile, his Very Rare Woodland Regalia Outfit, made together with his grandmother, delivers a more traditional look at his Anishinaabe roots.
Dead by Daylight: The Life Road is available now on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
