[Trailer] Exorcize a House From Ghosts in New Psychological Horror Title ‘Obsideo’

Published

on

Sure, Phasmophobia is fun and all, but what if instead of photographing ghosts, you exorcized them? That’s where Kyles Garage’s Obsideo comes in. Currently in development over on itch.io, the game is still early in development, but the dev has plans for the game to hit Steam “late next month”.

Similar to Phasmophobia, you and up to three friends (as priests) explore different locations that are experiencing paranormal events in an attempt to figure out what ghost they’re dealing with, and remove it. You’ve got your standard ghost hunting equipment, along with a ‘Ghostpedia’ to give you info on the ghost that you’re dealing with. You have over 15 different ghost types, so you’ll be busy.

Instead of finding specific items and clues, and generating your conclusions from them, Obsideo focuses more on paying attention to context clues and what the ghost looks like, and how it interacts with the environment. According to the developer, this allows for more replayability and keeps each playthrough unique. There’s also more of a focus on the theme of exorcism, so your equipment reflects that.

If you’re looking to try it out, the game can be purchased from Kyle’s itch.io site. If you do purchase the game from there, once Obsideo goes live on Steam, you’ll be mailed a Steam key, as well.

Physical PS5 Release Announced for Underwater Horror Title ‘Dark Mass’ [Trailer]

Published

on

Path Games provided an update for its in-development underwater haunted house title Dark Mass, revealing that the game will receive a physical release for PlayStation 5 as both a Standard Edition and a Collector’s Edition. The reveal also coincides with a new trailer that delves into the gameplay.

Dark Mass sees players take on the role of Alice, a deep-sea explorer who, alongside her brother Reed, stumbles upon the wreckage of an ancient ship. But beneath the ship lies they discover a manor lost to time, eerily untouched despite spending centuries in the ocean.

Alice decides to venture inside, but she soon realises that something is watching from the darkness, bound to the manor by a dark curse. Trapped within the manor’s decaying halls, Alice must now uncover the manor’s tragic past, solve puzzles based on real historical torture rituals, and make decisions that will ultimately define her fate.

Both the Standard Edition and Collector’s Edition will be published by SelectaPlay, with the Collector’s Edition having been designed “for horror fans and collectors,” bringing together a selection of physical items inspired by Alice’s journey, the mystery of the sunken manor and the unsettling atmosphere of the abyss.

The Standard Edition includes a physical copy of the game, along with an illustrated manual. Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition includes the physical copy and manual, along with the following:

  • Collector’s Box
  • Official Art Book
  • Lenticular postcard
  • Alice’s turtle bracelet
  • Original Soundtrack in Digipack format
  • Exclusive Steelbook

In addition to the PlayStation 5, Dark Mass will be coming to the Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. The game is currently aiming for a fall 2026 release.
