[Trailer] Death is a Corporate Business in Upcoming Roguelike ‘Have a Nice Death’

Published

A humourous roguelike where you play as the personification of Death in a corporate world? Publisher Perfect World Entertainment and developer Magic Design Studios are running with the idea in their upcoming title Have a Nice Death, which is currently in development for PC via Steam, with a March 2022 Early Access launch.

Premiering the trailer prior to The Game Awards 2021 last week, Have a Nice Death casts you as the Grim Reaper himself. Only this time, you’re a bit stressed out from work, mainly due to your employees at Death Inc., the Sorrows, having been going nuts with the reaping back on Earth, blatantly ignoring company protocol. As a result, you’ve got to restore balance and set your employees right.

You’ll trudge through the procedurally-generated departments of Death Inc. meeting your eclectic staff and handling out punishment. Along with your trusty scythe, you’ll have 30 weapons and spells to do some harvesting. And, seeing as Death can’t die, players can use what they’ve learned and earned to overcome the numerous minions and bosses in each department. A performance review at the end of your run will unlock new upgrades and items for you to use.

Be careful, however, as taking more power for yourself can have some unintended consequences from the Labour board, resulting in your employees gaining more power themselves.
