GSC Game World Delays ‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2’ to December

Published

Turns out that the rumour posted yesterday was true. Only instead of Fall 2022, GSC Game World has announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has had its release date bumped from its April 28th release date to December 8th, 2022.

The release date change was posted to the official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Twitter account. The reasoning behind the delay is for the team to “fulfill [their] vision and achieve the desired state of the game.”

“S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is the biggest project in the history of GSC, and it requires thorough testing and polishing,” reads the post. “This decision is not an easy one, but we are doing the best possible to deliver you a game that can live up to the expectations.”

“With more information, updates and showcases coming, we have an exciting and important year ahead. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is currently in development for the Xbox Series and PC. The game will also be available via Xbox Game Pass on release day.
