‘V Rising’ Hits 1.5 Million Sales Since Release, Next Steps Detailed

Published

on

After reaching 500,000 units sold last week upon its release, Stunlock Studios’ V Rising has now cracked the 1 million mark in sales on Steam. The devs took the opportunity in their latest dev blog to not only thank players, but also lay out plans for the rest of the title’s Early Access stay.

“The release of V Rising has been met with overwhelming support, and we really can’t thank you all enough for joining us on this journey,” reads the post. “Opening into Early Access is the first step we’re taking on the misty road to the game’s full release.”

The plan at the moment for Stunlock is to focus on bug fixes, balance changes, server optimization, and quality of life improvements for V Rising. “The next step will be to analyze all the data and feedback from the first weeks of Early Access to make sure we can nail the master plan moving forward. We’re already working on new material to inject more life into Vardoran, but improving on the game is more than just adding more content on top of what we already have. We’ll have to improve on the entire journey to make sure V Rising will reach its full potential.”

Indeed, the team has already released a couple of new patches that allows the game to be played in offline mode, as well as introducing LAN support, and optimizing the game’s performance.

As for what’s next in terms of content, according to Stunlock’s Marketing Director, Johan Ilves, it’s “too early to tell” when the first big V Rising content update will arrive, as the team wants to give it the time “to make sure it brings something new to the experience.” However, the team plans on making sure that the first big content update is worth the wait.

As for the eventual Early Access exit, the devs plan to have something special for the eventual 1.0 release. “There will be more weapons to wield, loot to plunder, and sorcery to conjure. There will be more V Bloods with new challenges, lands to explore, and further ways to enhance your castle to express your vampiric glory.

Taking place after the events of Hellblade and Hellblade II, Senua is set in a fractured vision of purgatory, where a Celtic warrior (which is Senua) must fight to reach the afterlife and reunite with those she has loved and lost. Story details are purposely being kept under wraps for now, but players can expect to confront threats both within and without, master tactical combat to overcome nightmarish creatures, and explore a fantastical world shaped by myth and memory.

“It was important for us in developing Senua that we make a game Hellblade fans will love, but for it to be a game for new players, too,” explains Ninja Theory in a post to Steam. “If you’re a fan of story-led, premium action-adventure games with visceral combat, vivid worlds and fantastical enemies (including boss fights!), there’s a lot to be excited about in Senua.”
